Well, honestly I saw zero posts in Instruments, so I just had to be the first..
Well let’s see..for a long time I was lead guitarist at VCF Portland,ME…
I played a purple Ibanez RG550 circa 1987: and life was good.
I haven’t done lead for a looong time now, and find myself behind a bass more often than not: it’s a Ibanez SG 200 series if I’m remembering right.
Played through a smallish Peavey amp.
We’re still a fairly small plant(100 +\- folks usually) and we meet in a school caf, so the amp carries well enough without going into the system thus far.
Well, that’s it!
Peace brothers & sisters..

Instruments:
Sarah has a: Taylor 814CE and she loves it. Sounds great.
I have a Gretsch Jet Firebird (a red duo jet) and a Vox AC30.
The amp sounds good on stage, but I couldn’t turn it up very loud to get that hot tube sound. So I now put it in the back room and mic it. Super cool tone!

CF Martin currently plays in the band eternal… though I know not whether it is hot or pleasant there. But his father, Charles was reputed to have invented the guitar, so how bad can that be?

The great thing about Taylor’s is that the company stands behind their guitars. These guys will do anything to help one of their owners and they will restore a damaged instrument back to factory specs.
I’m sure you guys know Bob Taylor is a Christian and plays guitar in a worship band at his church.
I wonder what band Martin plays in?

Giannini classical for 29 years. Then I came out of the worship closet, and the Lord provided two Martins – a new 12 and a used 6 (my favorite) – miracle is that I paid a total of about $300. out of pocket for the both of them.
I have fishmans in each, and they are cranked through whatever little blue box I plug into for our sound system. I dont pay attention to what is at the end of my cable. As long as it works.
Oh – hubby and I treated ourselves to a Fender mandolin last Christmas. Having lots of fun with that.

Actually, I hear about them from a friend of mine and former worship leader Gary C. He’s been blessed with a rather large wallet due to some very smart financial choices, so he’s done a bunch of research and owns some really nice pieces.

I love the Larrivee as well. Got mine a couple of years ago in Saratoga Springs, NY. Love it!

Ooooh…Breedloves….Those are NICE guitars! I love the sound of ‘em and the fingerboard too…Taylors ARE pretty nice, but I’d put my money on a Breedlove first! The most amazing guitar I’ve ever played /heard is a Goodall…THAT is The most incredible piece you’ll ever play…you talk to the owner; he asks you questions and then he makes YOUR guitar-designed exclusively for you…amazing pieces of beauty as well. Nothing I could afford! Check ‘em out…

Breedlove? Not familiar with that brand. Is it a dreadnought? Is it set-up with onboard EQ?

Patrick,
Great to meet you and Sarah at the conference. I concur that the Taylor guitars produce some sweet sounds.
