In northern New England (ME, NH and VT) we have created a Worship Network among the Vineyard churches, to help connect people across the area. I am still collecting contact info, but hope to have a complete list of info for ME, NH and VT soon!

I think that is a super idea, and much needed!

great! i think we have a good start in terms of people who might be able to help out a less experienced worship leader.

so the reason that i wanted to do something like this was because i met a young woman worship leader who needed prayer. she said that she was just starting out and that she was not a “real” worship leader…just leading for small groups and evening services…and that the “real” worship leader was someone at her church who has been on recordings and stuff.

i was sooooo sad when i heard this, but it opened my eyes to what might be a fairly far-reaching (and deeply-rooted) sentiment amongst WLs who are just starting out. i’m really heart-broken about this perceived division, and i think that it would be great to start proactively tearing down these walls.

i’m hoping to get a list of all worship leaders in our region within the next few months, and send out emails for more mentors. then we’ll start our search for WLs who want someone to support them!

Debbie, I think this a great idea. I suggest we keep the discussion going. Because nobody has commented in 2 weeks, though I’m going to unstick it. Feel free to re-stick it, if you think it should be up front.

i just want to get enough people who are willing to mentor and match them up with new worship leaders…good advice, extra encouragement…all good things!

well, as our community grows here, i’d like to match people up. just create a place for people to meet and develop relationships…

I guess it would depend on what that entailed. Sound like a GREAT idea though.
