this is not necessarily a congregational worship song, but i thought i would share anyways.
it is a song i wrote as a project for the essentials course.
This song speaks of the wrestling with thoughts of God and what truly makes us alive.
The chorus is meant to be that resounding call from Christ, awakening us from this sleepwalk so to speak, to new life.
The second verse incorporates some of N.T. Wrights language of echoes. There are things in this world that resonate deep within us, they are like echos of God’s voice calling us to something deeper, something greater.
All of creation declares this glorious story, like a song of praise, a song of hope…when my life is in line with that, I feel truly alive, or in a state of becoming more alive.
Moving into the chorus is that call from Christ, that there is new life for everyone, pouring out like wine… combining language of a lavish party and the blood of Christ/communion. It’s the gift that has been lavishly poured out on us…

Michael, thats one of the best tunes I have heard anywhere in along time. It’s a very good balance of
thoughtful production that does not drown out the vitality of the song.
In other words the song is not overdressed. I’m so sick of hearing so much of what’s coming out
these days dressed up in the same old tired neo U2 type, over layered production and rip off guitar licks.
Too Many good tunes have been generically packaged in the sonic trends of the moment. But your song
has a unique sound. The vocall speaks of hope yet it’s somewhat haunting. It’s tinged with a sense
of longing yet does not lead my ears into despair. Your voice serves the lyric well it’s articulation
of it’s meaning. This song is different. It supports the message not only in the competent musicianship but also
in it’s arrangement and and choice of tonal texture. Really wonderful. I Hope this is part of project
headed for release!
